EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES

CHC provides a range of educational facilities, spread across all locations.

In the Nursing Training Institute there are 8 classrooms, one practical room and a well-stocked library with plenty of study space. In the main hospital we have a large conference room which is used for internal CME teaching meetings, and a smaller office which can accommodate small group teaching for up to 8 people.

Within the CHP building there is a large teaching room which can accommodate 80-100 people, and a smaller meeting room which has space for up to 20 persons. For large events or “all-staff meetings” we use the main hall in the Staff Club which can accommodate over 400 persons and has a raised stage with lecturn and projection screen area. All educational rooms can be equipped with microphones and mobile digital projection for powerpoint presentations.

The medical on-call room also has a small, recently restocked reference library and a computer with internet access. There is a larger reference library of old and new texts in the operating theatre, mainly related to surgical illness and operations.

In addition to the teaching and training rooms, we can offer accommodation for residential students and visiting delegates for training. NTI student accommodation is separate from the teaching facilities. We have a self-contained training centre within CHC which can accommodate 60 trainees and has its own accommodation including attached bathrooms, catering and dining facilities.

All our educational facilities can be booked for use by external organisations if they are not being used by CHC.
