CMC VELLORE CPD TEAMS

Our first CPD team of 5 staff members started their training attachments in Vellore in July this year. Although there were some initial minor challenges, (inevitable for a first venture!), they have been settled there for several months now and we have just received their midterm reports. It is great to hear that they all feel the experience is worthwhile and that they are learning lots of things which they will bring back to help CHC. They will return home just before Christmas and we are all looking forward to hearing their news in person.

We are now in the process of preparing the second team, who will depart for Vellore in early January. This time there will only be 4 team members – one doctor and 3 nurses – who will be working in the Departments of Child Health (for Neonatology & General Paediatrics), and Accident & Emergency at CMCH. There is a lot of work to be done pre-departure, but we are optimistic all will be finished in time! Watch this page for more news!

CONSTRUCTION STARTS ON THE HOSPITAL CHAPEL!

After several unavoidable delays (as a result of design modifications and bad weather) we are delighted to report that the construction of the hospital chapel has begun. The foundations are now being laid and we hope that the weather will be kind and allow us to finish in a short time. Watch this page for news of progress.
