The Visitor at CHC

VISITORS

We enjoy having many visitors to CHC throughout the year. These include visiting medical and surgical teams from the UK, Japan and elsewhere, as well as individual medical or other clinical staff who come for short-term periods to assist and advise us. Up to 2009 we have had regular visits from a surgical team from The Leprosy Mission to assist with reconstructive surgical camps for our leprosy patients.

We also have many local, national and international visitors who come to see and learn from our work, often in association with NGOs such as WHO, UNDP and others. We have also hosted formal visits and evaluating teams from our donors and sponsors as well as from our Government and Church organisations. One of the photographs on this page shows the 2006 Nobel Peace Laureate Muhammad Yunus visiting us with his daughter Monica, who was born at CHC.

In addition to these short-term visitors, we have had a number of long-term workers who have come from overseas organisations including BMS World Mission (UK) and Japan Overseas Christian Medical Co-operative Service (JOCS).

Our long history means that there are many people who have spent many years in association with our hospital. In 2007, we celebrated our Centenary by inviting as many of these old friends as possible to join us for the occasion.

CHC has also hosted a number of other large events for other groups, and can offer an excellent package for any organisation wishing to use us as a location for an event or as a retreat for their staff. We can also help to organise outings for leisure time including the necessary permits for foreigners to travel to our local beauty spots such as the National Park at Kaptai, or Rangamati Lake.

For more information about the meeting & training facilities, accommodation and recreation facilities for delegates and visitors which CHC can offer, please see our ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES & RECREATIONAL FACILITIES pages.
